The Existing Roof
During our initial inspection, we found that the roof had traditional peg tiles with old, worn roofing felt that had deteriorated over time. While this was a common method of construction on older roofs, the ageing felt offered far less protection against wind-driven rain and dust than modern roofing systems.
As the homeowner was planning to install solar panels, it was the ideal opportunity to upgrade the roof before the panels were installed.
Original Roof Condition:
Our Roofing Work
Our team carefully stripped the existing section of roof, removing the old peg tiles and worn felt while taking care to preserve any reusable tiles.
Once the roof structure was exposed, we installed a high-quality breathable roofing membrane across the roof before fitting new treated timber battens to current standards. This created a strong, weatherproof base ready for the next stage of the project.
Preparing the roof in this way helps provide long-term protection for the property and ensures the roof is ready for the additional load and fixing requirements of a new solar panel system.
